Tide Height

The centre of the clock shows the tide height now and for the next 12 hours.
Each ring displays a height (in meters or feet).
The blue area displays the height of the tide at any time in the next 12 hours (tide height is stored in 12 min intervals).
The current time is 9:36am and the tide height is 5.05 meters.
High tide is 11:32am and will be 6 meters at 12am, low tide is at 6:04pm 2.87 meters.
See Tide Points to create rings so you can tell when the tide is above or below a certain level.
Please note: It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the data is suitable for their intended purpose.
Tide Clock must not be used by vessels for navigation
Weather

The outer bevel of the clock face shows the Met Office weather forcast now and for the next 12 hours.
The predicted weather is displayed before each hour.
An icon (sometimes animated ) of the weather is displayed along with percentage chance of rain.
Tapping on the clock interface will display additional weather details including temperature, wind speeds and wave heights.
Daylight hours

Between the tide height and the weather is a sun dial showing your day and night hours and sunset/sunrise time as a circular gradient
Sunset is 7:15pm
Select Location


Select location will open google maps with all the tide locations.
UK Admiralty locations for the UK and Ireland.
Worldtide locations for the rest of the world.
Blue = standard locations (full tide data)
Red = secondary locations which which have partial tidal data.
Green = custom locations.
Touch and hold on the Google maps interface to create a custom location.
Red and Green locations can be edited. see Custom Locations.
Home - Find closest location

Home will find the the closest tide location, based on your current location and uses this for clock display tide and weather display. The location name is displayed in the top left of the corner (eg “Bude”).
Note: The closest port may not be the most accurate for your location, see Tides FAQ.
Favorites


White indicates the current location is not saved as a Favorite, single tap to select as favorite.

Red indicates the current location is saved as a Favorite

Double tap on the Favorite icon to open your list of favorite locations

Settings


You can use Settings to configure what is displayed.
You can switch between different units (metric or imperial).
You can also enable and disable features and only display what you want to see.
For example if you dont want the daylight hours displayed turn off the “Display Sun dial”.
Click the tick (bottom left) when done.

Information


The Information window will display the exact high and low tide times and heights for today and tomorrow as well as the sunrise and setset times.
The time and date when the app last updated the tide data and weather and the Tide and Weather location as Latitude and Longtitude.
Weather views
Single tap

Single tap on the clock to display additional weather data, each tap displays different data, temperature, wind speeds, wave heights and periods.
Temperature

Top right displays description of the weather displayed.
Temperature is air temperature and (/) feels like temperature (taking into account humidity and wind speed).
At 12:00 predicted temperature 14C and feel like 12C.
Use the Settings to switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit.
Wind

Wind showing average wind speed and maximum gusting speed. Direction is displayed as a direction arrow.
12:00 wind 14mph, gusting 22 from SSE.
The bottom right is force in the Beaufort scale.
Bottom left describs the wind state, top left gives expected sea state, based on the beaufort scale.
UV and Visability

Rain mm and Pressure

Expected rain volume (in mm) expected in the hour to 12:00.
Barometric pressure at 12:00
Wave height and range

Wave height and range
12:00 average wave height 2.5ft, with waves between 1 and 3ft.

Note: Units for the wave can be set separatly from main imperial / metric units.

Wave period and direction
Wave period (in seconds) is time between waves.
Direction of the waves as a direction arrow.
12:00 8 seconds between waves from the West.

Tap and hold

Tap and hold to return to the main weather from any weather page.
Goto Settings to select weather options to display


Turn on and off weather options to select which weather data you want to view with the tap gesture.
Looking ahead

Swipe left on the clock to see future tides and weather.
Future tides and weather are shown from 00:00 or 12:00.
The first swipe will take you to the next 00:00 or 12:00 and each subsequent swipe will move forward 12 hours.
AM tides are shown as blue.

PM is always shown as magenta.
As you go further forward the date at the top will change.
AM or PM is also shown in the lower right to indicate if you are viewing the morning or afternoon tides and weather.
You can view upto 7 days weather and tide in this view.
Note: Using the moon phase view you can view the next 30 days tide data.
Swipe right to go back

Swipe right takes you back 12 hours.
Note: You cannot back to before the current time.
Time now tap and hold

Tap and hold will take you back to the current time and normal clock mode.
Tide Points

A tide point is a tide height so you can easily view when the tide is above or below this height.
Tide points are location specific.
Add Tide point

Use the + button is to add tide points.

Enter a short description and the height of the tide point.
Edit Tide point


Edit tide points to change the name or height.
Forward / back if you have more than one tide point.
Bin to delete a tide point.
Moon View

Use the + button is to add tide points and the edit button to change and delete tide points.
Tide points are saved for the current tide location (top left), tide points created for Bude will not appear if you select another tide location.
Add Tide point


Enter a description of the tide point (best to keep it short) and its height and click add to create the tide point.
Edit Tide point

Edit tide points, change the name, height, delete tide points and forward back if you have multiple points…..
Custom Locations
To create a custom location open select location.


Touch and hold on the Google maps interface to create a custom location.
Green = custom locations (full edit)
Red = secondary locations (part edit)
Blue locations cannot be edited.
Once created you can tap to select your new location.
Editing custom locations
By default the custom location uses the longtitude and latitude for the location name and for tide data will use the closest tide location it can find.

Double click on the name (longtitude and latitude) to edit how the tide data is calculated.

Tap Name to give your location a more meaningful name.


To change the tide location used for the data, click on the location name its currently using and it will display a list of locations.

Select from the drop down list the location you would prefer to use.
In Settings you can change the order locations are listed by Closest or Name.
Help

Tap on the red help button to open the help page.
Click on the X in the top left to close the help and return to the tide clock.
